What do you do when your friends send on chain mails to you - some of these are harmless (if rubbish) some are horrible, hateful and rubbish. Folk add you to their group e-mail list and just click to forward on every time they get some shit sent to them.
Three times now I have asked people politely not to send on this rubbish and each time I've ended up getting a sharp retort for MY bad manners - this despite the fact that the last mail I got actually threatened a nasty ending if it wasn't sent back.
So what is the protocol here? Do you just have to meekly delete it and keep schtum? Even if offended?
I don't know why I even bother to ask - meekness is where it's at isn't it?
Some asshole blows their cigarette smoke all over you in a restaurant while you eat? Meek acceptance.
Some asshole smokes in the no-smoking room? Meek.
Some asshole barges into you in a shop - YOU say sorry and get meekly out of there way.
I know that the meek will inherit the earth but in the meantime what are we supposed to do?

I used to get sent this type by my sister (along with loads of spoof emails about free stuff from Microsoft and Eriksson). Initially I'd delete them without saying anything, and wait for the next one to come along until a couple of months ago I rather pointedly told her it was bollocks and not to bother me with them any more.

It was slightly on the harsh side, but its done the trick. No more pointless-crap-irritating-designed-for-the-gullible emails from that particular source
